The afternoon of Feb 16th 2020 was spent inside the TaeKwon-Do Impact Academy in Croydon. 5 people from Banstead TKD took part in the Master R Dennis VIII training session:
In attendance from Banstead were: Me, Mr Webb, Mr Duvigneau, Edie and Georgia. We all our patterns blitz'd throughout the afternoon.
We try to hold a session like this every couple of months. It's great for Master Dennis to see Red belts who are keen for the 1st Degree, and Blackbelts keen on progressing to higher degrees.
For me personally, it's a chance to see if any bad habits have crept in over the past 6 months or so since becoming a 5th Degree. There were a couple ;) which have now been reversed. It's also great being a student, rather than the instructor.
After a swift warm up we worked through each pattern of the system, for me that's 21 patterns. Some students had the opportunity to work on their 1-Step Sparring too, and some self defence techniques towards the end.
It was great to catch up with people I don't see to often. And I am pretty sure everyone had a real positive afternoon.
We're looking forward to the next one and a blackbelt grading for some people in June.
