During August we are running some day time sessions for existing students of Banstead TKD and Extreme TKD. The first was August 3rd and was a well attended Pad Work Training session.
We focussed the first hour on learning to use body mechanics and correct technique to produce effortless power. Using Dollyo Chagi and starting low and working up in height the students got the hang of throwing dead weight to great speed and power.

This hour we worked on conditioning and stimulating some fitness for extended padwork and working on power. This is a hard session and it really shows students how difficult it can be to work for an extended period of time, such as 1 minute which doesn't seem a lot but appears to be endless when you are throwing hard kicks non-stop.
After a little rest we worked the 3rd hour on spinning kicks, the reverse turning kick mainly. Some students were working on just producing a solid and reliable spin, whereas others who had that dialed already were working on increasing speed to produce match winning knockout results.
After a quick stretch and a good chat about how hard lockdowns have been for teenagers and their development we all packed up and called it a day until the next session.
