March 2025 was a month of excitement and challenge for two of Banstead TKD's top competitors, Hollie and Anna. They set their sights on an international tournament in Holland, where chances of testing their skills against the best in the sport awaited them as part of the TaeKwon-Do Impact team.
With each of them arriving with high hopes, they were keen to showcase their skills. But the world of TaeKwon-Do is never easy, especially when faced with formidable opponents from around the globe.
Both athletes stepped onto the mat with nerves mixed with adrenaline. They had prepared well but understood the tournament would be a challenging arena for them. Although they lost out in the patterns competition, they remained undeterred and focused on what came next.
Sparring was hard! However, Anna secured a silver medal in sparring—a remarkable achievement that speaks volumes about her approach to training.
This tournament was not just about medals and accolades; it was also an invaluable learning experience. Both competitors walked away with insights that would only bolster their game in future competitions. They faced their setbacks with resilience, a true testament to their character as competitors.
We must acknowledge the support from their parents, who have been a solid foundation for Hollie and Anna throughout their training. Their unwavering belief in the girls' abilities and constant encouragement made a significant difference in their journey to Holland.
Thank you to TaeKwon-Do Impact for providing extra training sessions to help both athletes prepare for this demanding event.
As we celebrate their achievements, we also look forward to what lies ahead. On to the next tournament. With each experience, you grow stronger.

Keep kicking and keep striving for greatness!
